Nymphing and I are yet to be great friends. I'd love to get into it, but high sticking and waiting with an extended arm torments my back. Looks like fun though. Watching everyone kicking butt with numbers of fish is also painful. Maybe it's time for me to suck it up and figure out a way to make it work. 🤘🏻
I'm in kind of the same boat with repetitive casting these days. Use a back-brace these days and take more breaks and pictures.
Great instructions, nice fish.
Awesome, thank you
Grande Ronde?
John Day
Seeing 30 boats ahead of you is something we never see in British Columbia fishing for Kokanee. If I see 6 other boats in a day it is crowded. I guess I am spoiled. What I use to catch kokanee are Apex Kokanee Killers, Macks Sling blades, the good old wedding ring and my favourite the Brads kokanee cutplug in all colours depending on cloud cover. I use purple coloured rigs on cloudy days.
you are spoiled, thanks for the tips
Awesome video do you have this for a other fish like walleye or sturgeon
I don't but will be posting some gear steelhead videos this fall.
Don't believe I've ever seen this before. Excellent seminar type video for kokanee fishing all in one sitting. Thank you for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it! Most guys who have given the lessons a try are happy with results.
My go-to's are sling blades off of lead core line, to Wedding Rings, tipped with shoepeg corn, scented with krill oil. I might go over to my downrigger, in mid-summer, but more often I'm flat lining without the rigger. On one lake, which holds small bait fish, I substitute the Wedding Rings for a Wee Dick Nite spoon. On another, which holds Sockeye salmon as well as Kokanee, I simply up size the Sling blades, early in the season, then go back to the 6"" Sling blades later in the season. When targeting Sockeye, I use a bit stiffer rods, go up to 15 ib. test braid, and vary the weight of the sinkers, and hooks are up-sized to 1/0, or 2/0. If the Socks are close mouthed, I might switch out the Sling Blades for an"0", or "00" Les Davis dodger. In this fishery, I'll use wiggle hoochies, or mini hoochies, dyed coonstripe shrimp, scented with shrimp oil. It's basically the same as Kokanee, only up-sized for the larger fish of 6-10 ib. fish. The rest of the season I'll be fishing the saltwater, for Chinook, Coho, or Chum salmon. ( different boat).
Great info, thanks for the tips. Shows there is more to Kokanee trolling than some think.
You always make so much sense, thanks.
I really miss Fly Fish TV actually being ON tv.
the name rings a bell
Happy Fish’n. Save the Steel! Conserve the Chrome! Gratitude for the Grey Ghost!

Glad it was helpful! Maggie was a gem and had refined her lessons to really help folks catch fish and not just lash the water.
Nice brown Kelly put that picture on the fridge
My trout are 5 pounds as well when I don’t weigh them.
You’re the best Kelly!

Lost my dvds thanks so much for this!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤
Enjoy! Thanks for buying the DVD
This is awesome
This is classic
One of the best memories of fishing there was flying in to a stream and looking down to see bears running to “meet us” and sit down stream and eat the remainder of the fish we landed and filleted.
Does anyone know what book he had in this video? Or where to get a copy?
Dumbest setup ever, Period
I couldn't watch the whole video because that crappy speedcore music is irritating as all get out😒
Anyone here from the November Nymphing video?
that was badass!!!!!
always good to see a guide using grips and no net. cmon man
Your right .... we all make mistakes and that was one
Thanks for sharing!
Wotten would have you believe he introduced wet flies to the colonies all by himself. 😂🤣😂
Slobbish!!!
what lake is this? i didnt know there were any lakes on the battle creek ranch
How to Floss fish....
Thank you, good tips. Daves knot is the knot, I have been looking for to ty bite wire. Knot clinches down clean and doesn't damage or twist wire and coating. Thank you again.
Generally, I'm unimpressed with the fight I see muskies put up. Even huge ones. They are officially off the bucket list.
This man is my inspiration to sit at my vice every time I tie I’ll never forget the first trout I ever caught on a sparkle pupa in that moment I was hooked pun intended now that he’s gone I do my best to keep him alive by filling my box with his bugs thank you for posting this absolutely brilliant
Thanks for your wonderful knowledge. Also thanks for helping with our wounded warriors. Your teaching is now being passed onto my great grandson from his dad that you've seen fishing with me. Love your truck
John and I have been friends for 35 years. He's been fishing this river since he was a teen, and running a fly shop the whole time I've known him. Nobody I know is better at fishing that river. _Smerf, if you're reading this?_ *HOWDY!*
Well, that was a classic for sure!!! Thanks Kelly
Is this club still going?
Yep!!
